  Your Emerson Air Conditioner might not start due to several reasons. Ensure the electrical plug is fully inserted into a properly grounded outlet. Check if a fuse is blown or the circuit breaker has tripped, and replace or reset it, avoiding other appliances on the same circuit. If there was a power failure, turn the power OFF and wait 3 minutes after power is restored before restarting the unit. Also, if " " appears in the display, it means the water collection tank is full, so drain it and reset your settings. Lastly, if the room temperature is below the set temperature, the unit will automatically shut off in cool mode; adjust the temperature setting if needed.

A dirty air filter can also cause this issue, so clean the air filter at least every two weeks. When first turning on, allow the air conditioner sufficient time to cool the room. Check for open furnace, floor registers, cold air returns, open windows or doors through which cold air may be escaping. Lastly, cooling coils may have iced up; select a higher temperature and the High fan speed.
