Winterizing Endless Pools Fiberglass Pool
1. Turn o power to all pool equipment.
2. Drain the water in the pool to just below the return ng.
3. Disconnect the plumbing unions on both sides of the circulang pump and remove the pump. Store the pump in a
safe place (note that o-ring seals on unions must be retained for future use).
4. All water MUST be removed from the plumbing lines and the heater controller using a shop vac or an air compressor.
5. Remove the eyeball ng and plug the return line with a 1.5” threaded plug with an o-ring.
6. Install a #10 winterizing plug in the boom of the skimmer lter.
7. The secondary sucon for the water quality system, located 4’ down from the top of the berglass shell, should also
be plugged with a #10 winterizing plug.
8. Fill a plasc 2-liter or quart-sized bole 1/2 full of water or sand. Cap the bole and place it in the skimmer. This
bole will prevent the skimmer housing from cracking if it lls with water and that water happens to freeze.
9. If the pool has Hydrotherapy Jets:
A. Remove the jet nozzles and plug the jet ngs using #11 winterizing plugs. Take care not to lose the nylon
rings that create a seal around each jet nozzle.
B. Close the ball valve on the sucon side of the jet plumbing.
C. Remove the drain plugs from the jet pump housing to remove water.
D. Use an air compressor hooked up to one of the drain plugs on the pump to blow the water out of jet lines.
The water will be forced out of the air pipes on top of the jet ngs.
E. Turn o the air compressor. Close the ball valve on the return side of the plumbing, and then open the ball
valve on the sucon side of the jet plumbing.
F. Use the air compressor to blow air through the jet pump and out into the pool through the jet sucon
ngs.
G. Close the ball valve on the sucon side of the jet plumbing, then promptly turn o the air compressor.
10. Add a non-chlorine winter chemical kit to pool water. Kits vary in many ways. The most important characterisc you
should look for is that the kit has a “non-chlorine” oater that will slowly disperse the contents over the course of
the winter. Generally speaking, Endless Pools tend to be much smaller than what the industry would consider a small
pool, so usually the kit labeled for the smallest gallonage will suce. Addional chemicals such as algaecide stain and
scale control, and others may be included with this kit, none of which will damage the equipment but may not be
necessary. Winterizaon kits can be purchased through Endless Pools Customer Service.
11. Float air pillows or inner tubes over the enre surface of the water and e o as necessary.
12. Tarp the pool and weigh down the tarp with water boles, water pillows, sand bags, etc. (if the oponal Retractable
Security Cover was purchased this cover may be used to cover the air pillows/inner tubes instead of the tarp).
