The Enerzen LB-444 is an advanced portable air purification system designed to cleanse and sterilize air through a multi-stage purification process. It is suitable for a wide range of applications, from homes and offices to commercial and industrial settings, including restaurants, hotels, smoking areas, production areas, basements, casinos, large meeting halls, veterinary hospitals, barns, kennels, stables, photo labs, salons, day care centers, and areas with chemical odors or bowling alleys and parlors.

Function Description

The LB-444 employs a comprehensive purification strategy that combines several technologies to effectively remove pollutants, odors, and microorganisms from the air. Its core functions include:

• Negative Ion Generation: The device features a 20 KV negative ion generator, producing ≥5 x 10⁶/cm³ (or ≥2.5 x 10⁶/cm³) ions. Negative ions are known to attach to airborne particles, making them heavier and causing them to fall out of the air, thus improving air quality.
• Adjustable Ozone Generation: The unit can generate ozone at an adjustable rate of 0-500 mg per hour, with an active oxygen output of ≤0.05ppm (Off/On) or Max=500mg/h. Ozone is a powerful oxidant that effectively neutralizes odors, kills bacteria, and inactivates viruses. The ozone function is adjustable via a dedicated switch, allowing users to control its output based on the specific needs of the environment.
• Activated Carbon Deodorization: An activated carbon filter is integrated into the system to absorb and eliminate a wide range of odors, gases, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the air.

• Placement Recommendations: For optimal purification, the unit should be placed as high as possible, nearest to the source of pollution, near cold-air areas in air circulation, and in frequently used areas. It's crucial to ensure at least one inch of open area behind the unit for unrestricted airflow.
• Fan & UV Control: The fan control adjusts wind speed, and UV light and ionization are also controlled by the fan switch. Users can adjust the fan speed to manage noise levels.
• Ozone Control: The ozone function can be turned on, off, or adjusted. It's recommended to adjust the purifier so that the ozone odor fades within 15-30 seconds. For mold, mildew, and bacteria reduction, high settings for 3-4 hours with open doors/windows are suggested. The ozone purification is recommended for unoccupied spaces.
• Indicator Lights: The POWER light turns green when the fan switch is on, and the OZONE light turns red when the ozone switch is on.
• Safety Precautions: Users are warned not to look at the front panel at close distance due to the UV sterilization light. The unit should never blow directly into the face of any person or pet. Ozone control should only be performed in unoccupied spaces.

• Pre-filter / HEPA Filter Cleaning:
  • Removal: Filters are removed by pushing down two latches on the back cover and gently pulling out white ribbons on the filters.
  • Cleaning Options:
    1. Vacuuming: For visibly dirty filters, heavy particulate can be removed with a hand-held vacuum. This method extends the life of the screen/filter.
    2. Washing: For more thorough cleaning, the pre-filter and HEPA filter can be removed, washed in cool water, and gently brushed with a toothbrush to remove particulates. They must be completely dry before re-installation.
  • Frequency: Maintenance frequency depends on the environment's pollution level, ranging from as little as four weeks to a year.
• Fan Blade and Front Grill Cleaning:
  • Access: The front grill can be removed by unscrewing four screws, providing access to the fan for cleaning and maintenance.
  • Cleaning: The fan blade and front grill can be wiped with a damp washcloth.
  • Fan Lubrication: If the fan squeaks, a drop of lightweight oil may be needed on the fan shaft.
• Air Purifier Plate Maintenance:
  • The air purifier plate(s) may require replacement if broken. Users should order new plates from their dealer.
  • It's normal for the air purifier plate to make a sound, have a burning smell, or show arcing/sparking.
• Troubleshooting Guide: The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues, such as the unit not operating, fan operating but no ozone production, and restricted airflow. It covers checks for power, fuse, back cover installation, filter cleanliness, and proper unit placement.
