6.5. Service every 250 operating hours
Check is performed by operator. Make entry in service record; see 11.2. Service record.
- Review of points according to section 6.2. Daily inspections.
- Shimming, tilt upper section.
- Visual inspection of bushings and spherical bearings; see section 10.2. Tiltrotator
overview.
6.5.1. Shimming, tilt upper section
1. Make sure that the upper section is
pushed against the base machine by e.g.
wedging a screwdriver between the body
and the upper section.
2. Undo the tilt axial washer’s two bolts.
3. Shim the upper section by placing tilt
axle shims inside the tilt axial washer.
4. Tighten the tilt axial washer.

IMPORTANT
No tool may be connected during checks.
The following tools are required for
checking lateral and rotational play:
- Extended 10 mm Allen key.
- Dial indicator with magnetic base.
- Long hexagonal socket
- Crowbar.
