When installing the IQ8 Commercial Microinverter system using QD Cable, you may have multiple
center tap connectors in the branch circuit. Select the center tap connector such that a maximum of 9
IQ8 Commercial Microinverters are installed on either side of the center tap connector to limit voltage
rise <1% in the QD Cable. Do not exceed branch circuit sizing mentioned on Page 1 in this guide.
WARNING: Use a female three-phase field wireable connector (QD-CONN-10F) to connect
the extension cable to the 3-pole 20 A over-current protection device (OCPD) in the PV
subpanel.
WARNING: The center-tapping AC male connector is marked “Center tap” and “Do Not
Connect to Microinverter.” Do not use the center-tap connectors for connecting to the
microinverter.
The center-tapping connector in the QD Cable is covered with a sealing cap. Do not remove pre-
installed sealing caps if the center-tap connector is not used for center feeding using the QD Center
Tap Adapter Cable.
2.4 IQ Gateway Commercial 2
When designing a three-phase, commercial-scale system, it is critical to install an IQ Gateway
Commercial 2 (model ENV2-IQC2-AM3-3P). IQ Gateway Commercial 2 will communicate with up to
275 IQ Commercial Microinverters for monitoring and maintenance when connected in the same
gateway communication domain.

The IQ Gateway Commercial 2 should be used solely for 208 Y/120 V three-phase applications and
provides integrated, revenue grade PV production metering 0.5%) with included three 400 A
continuous rated production CTs and optional 600 A continuous rated consumption monitoring
2.5%).
The IQ Gateway Commercial 2 supports only CT-400-SOLID for production monitoring, CT-600-SPLIT
(pack of three, to be ordered separately) for consumption monitoring and should not be used with any
other type of CTs. The 400 A Production CTs support cables with a maximum gauge of 1000 KCMil,
whereas the 600 A Consumption CTs support cables with a maximum gauge of 300 KCMil. You can use
up to two parallel-connected Consumption CTs to monitor up to a maximum of two conductors. Check
that there is enough space in the load center to install CTs. Do not install CTs where they exceed 75%
of the wiring space of any cross-sectional area within the load center.
