The EN1000 Series of controls can provide several INITIATION Modes. The default Mode
is NON BEAT. In the NON BEAT Mode, once the sequence is initiated by a momentary
closure, it cannot be stopped other than use of EMERGENCY STOP.
BEAT INITIATION DURING SQUEEZE
%($7 '85,1* 648((=( is typically used with trans-gun applications. The more
common desired operation in gun operation, requires that the operator or an external
programming source, be able to terminate SQUEEZE time before entering the weld period.
This allows for checking tip placement before welding. If the placement is not correct the
initiation is opened, and if opened before the weld period, the sequence will terminate,
allowing for repositioning. If the initiation is opened during the WELD or HOLD period, the
sequence will not be terminated.
To program the control for BEAT INITIATION DURING SQUEEZE, the EXTENDED
FUNCTION [bE] Mode must be selected. See section 7.3 EXTENDED FUNCTIONS. Use
the SCHEDULE SELECT Push Buttons (20 & 21) and SCHEDULE Display (22) to select
[bE]. With the control in the PROGRAM Mode enter a 01 into the DATA Display (4) using
DATA Push Buttons (5 & 6). As typical of other data entry the ENTER Push Button (29)
must be depressed to load the desired data.
127(: For manual operation a SINGLE STAGE Pilot may be used to emulate a two Stage
Pilot using this mode of non-interlocked SQUEEZE time. If the Pilot is opened during
SQUEEZE Time, the control will immediately stop the sequence. Once WELD time has
begun, the control will interlock the Pilot circuit and complete the programmed sequence.
In this Mode of operation, sufficient SQUEEZE Time must be programmed to allow for
checking alignment, before the control enters WELD Time. This will allow the operator
enough time to open the Pilot circuit before WELD Time and reposition the part if the
alignment is not proper.

%($7 ,1,7,$7,21 '85,1* 648((=( $1' : ( /' is typically used for brazing
applications. Operation is similar to BEAT INITIATION DURING SQUEEZE except that
the weld sequence can be terminated during SQUEEZE or WELD time. This is required as
every part has individual brazing characteristics that require different weld times. The weld
time must be set for the longest time required to bring the parts to the required brazing
temperature. If the operator opens the initiation during Weld, the Weld time terminates and
immediately advances to hold time. The control will terminate the weld sequence normally
at the end of the programmed schedule if the initiation Switch remains closed.
