Light status Condition/solution
The power light is on The scanner is turned on and ready to scan
The power light is flashing The scanner is scanning, initializing, or in standby mode
The power light is flashing
and the ! error light is on
The scanner cover is open or a paper jam or double feed has occurred.
Make sure the scanner cover is closed and there is no jammed paper
inside. Remove and reload the originals.
The power light and the
! error light are flashing at the
same time
A fatal error has occurred. Try the following:
• Check the scanner connection to your computer to make sure it is
secure.
• Turn the scanner off and then back on again. If the error continues,
the scanner may be malfunctioning. Contact Epson for support.
The power light is off and the
! error light and automatic
feeding mode light are on
The firmware update has failed and the scanner is in recovery mode.
Try updating the firmware again.
