4.8.3 Scanner Motor Unit/Driven Pulley
 Part/Unit that should be removed before removing Scanner Motor Unit/

Housing
 Removal procedure
1. Move the CIS Carrier Assy. to the center of the scanner.
2. Remove the polyslider washer from the Driven Pulley.
3. Push the Driven Pulley in the direction of the arrow to release the Timing
Belt, and remove the Driven Pulley.
4. Remove the Scanner Timing Belt from the Pulley.

5. Release the Scanner Motor cable from the tabs (x6) of the Lower Scanner
Housing.
6. Remove the screws (x3) that secure the Scanner Motor Unit, and remove the
Scanner Motor Unit.

 Route the Scanner Motor Connector Cable as shown in the
figure. (refer to Figure 4-102)
 Insert the Driven Pulley Spring into the rib of the Driven
Pulley. (refer to Figure 4-101)
 When installing the Scanner Timing Belt, make sure to face its
jagged side inward.

When the Scanner Motor Unit/Driven Pulley is reassembled,
perform the required lubrication. (Refer to Chapter 6 “
MAINTENANCE (p108)”)
