Power Management:

Maintenance Features

Installing/Replacing the Ribbon Cassette:
Replacing the ribbon cassette is a straightforward process.
- First, the ribbon cassette cover needs to be opened. This is done by putting fingers under the catches on both sides and lifting the cover in the direction of the arrow.
- Before removing or installing a new ribbon, the knob on the ribbon cassette should be turned two or three times in the direction of the arrow. It is crucial to confirm the direction of the arrow on the cassette and turn the knob accordingly, as turning it in the opposite direction may damage the ribbon cassette.
- If a used ribbon cassette is present, it should be removed.
- To install a new ribbon cassette, it should be inserted so that the ribbon enters between the print head and platen. The cassette should then be pushed down until it clicks into place. Users should check that the ribbon is not wrinkled or creased.
- After installation, the knob on the ribbon cassette should again be turned two or three times in the direction of the arrow to ensure proper ribbon tension.
- Finally, the ribbon cassette cover is closed.
A critical caution is to avoid touching the print head during printing or immediately after, as it can be very hot. Users should wait for it to cool down before performing any maintenance. Only the specified ribbon cassette should be used to ensure proper operation and prevent damage.
Installing/Replacing the Roll Paper:
Replacing the roll paper is also designed to be quick and easy.
- The roll paper cover is opened by pulling the cover open lever. It is important not to open the roll paper cover during printing, as this could cause injury or damage the product.
- If there is a used roll paper core, it should be removed.
- The new roll paper is then inserted in the correct direction. For 2-ply roll paper, users should ensure that the top and bottom sheets are aligned at the paper exit.
- After inserting the paper, some paper should be pulled out, and then the roll paper cover is closed.
- The excess paper pulled out can then be cut.
Only the specified roll paper should be used.
Cleaning the Printer Case:
To maintain the printer's appearance and prevent dirt buildup, the printer case should be cleaned regularly.
- Before cleaning, the printer must be turned off.
- The dirt on the printer case can then be wiped off with a dry cloth or a damp cloth.
A significant caution is to never clean the printer with alcohol, benzine, thinner, or other such solvents, as these can damage or break the plastic and rubber parts of the device.
Troubleshooting:
The manual provides guidance for troubleshooting common issues indicated by the POWER LED and ERROR LED.
- POWER LED does not light: Users should check if the AC adapter is correctly connected.

- For other cases, users should turn the printer off, wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
Paper Jam Resolution:
If paper is jammed, users should never pull out the paper forcibly. Instead, they should open the roll paper cover, and then remove the jammed paper. If the auto cutter blade does not return to the standby position, users should follow these steps:
- Turn off the printer.
- Open the roll paper cover.
- Turn the knob in the direction of the arrow until a shaft is seen in the opening.
- Close the roll paper cover after resolving the jam.
