Starting cold engine
NOTE: For a cold start, make sure that the rear handle (1) is in the upright
position.
1. Place the equipment on a at and stable surface. The cutting device (8) should not
touch ground or any objects.

3. Set the choke lever (11) to CLOSE position (Fig. 13).

Hold the machine securely to the
ground with your left hand. Pull
the recoil starter handle (5) slowly
with your right hand until you feel
a denite resistance and then give
it a brisk, strong pull. Repeat until
the engine attempts to start but
no more than 3 times3 times (Fig. 14).
(If engine already started within
3 times3 times, ignoreignore step 6step 6 and go to
step 7 directly.)
5. Set the choke lever (11) to
OPEN position.
6. Pull the recoil starter handle (5) until you feel a denite resistance. Repeat until the
engine starts (Fig. 14).
7. Squeeze the throttle control lock-out (2) and throttle control (3) and release them to
let engine run at idle speed.
8. Let the equipment run in idle for 1 to 2 minutes to let it warm up.
