46 Personalizing Your Phone
Note! It is only possible to send a melody to another similar phone or a
handheld PC/PDA, and you can receive melodies from another similar phone
and certain PCs and handheld PCs/PDAs. Also, the minimum distance
between your phone and another phone, a PC or a handheld PC/PDA can
vary. If you do not know whether your PC or handheld PC/PDA supports the
transfer of calendar appointments, or how far away you can place the phone
from it, please consult the User’s Guide of your PC or handheld PC/PDA or
contact the local retailer.
To send a melody
1. Scroll to
Settings
, YES,
Sounds & Alerts
, YES,
My Melodies,
YES.
2. Scroll to the melody that you want to send. Press
YES.
3. Position the infrared eye next to the
infrared eye on the phone or handheld
PC/PDA to which you want to send the
melody. Be sure to remain connected
during the whole transfer.
4. Select
Beam
and press YES.
When the transmission has succeeded, the
display shows
Melody beamed
.
To receive a melody
1. Activate the phone’s infrared eye by scrolling to
Extras
, YES,
Infrared Port
,
YES,
10 minutes
, YES. Also, make sure that the infrared eye on the senders'
mobile phone is facing the infrared eye on your phone.
2. When your phone has received the melody, you hear a short tone and see
the text
New melody received
.
3. If you want to hear the melody before you store it, press
YES to answer the
question
Play?
. Otherwise press NO.
4. Press
YES when you see the text
Save melody?
.
5. Select in which position in the melody list you want to store the new
melody.Theoldmelodystoredinthatpositionwillbeerased.When
scrolling through the list, the melody currently stored in the highlighted
position is played.
6. Press
YES to store the melody.
Note! You cannot select ‘Infrared Port’ from the Extras menu if you are using
the WAP browser, or if you use a cable for the communication between your
phone and the computer.
