3. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Key Product Specifications
CO AND SMOKE ALARM
Building regulations require that whenever a new or replacement fixed solid fuel
or wood / biomass appliance is installed in a dwelling, a carbon monoxide (CO)
and smoke alarm must be fitted in the same room as the appliance. The
installation of an alarm must not be considered a substitute for either installing
the appliance correctly, or ensuring regular servicing and maintenance of the
appliance and chimney system.
UNPACKING THE APPLIANCE
The cook stove comes bolted and strapped to a pallet, for simple and secure
transportation. To unpack, first remove the strapping and packaging. Then
remove the two bolts holding the stove to the pallet. Whilst heat-treated, the
pallet has been produced from timber that is appropriate for use as kindling, so
can be broken up and chopped, for this purpose. Finally, dispose of the
remaining packaging responsibly.
CHIMNEY & FLUE
The stove must be installed and connected to the chimney and flue pipe in line
with the current requirements of Building Regulations. Where a prefabricated
metal chimney is to be use, it must meet the requirements for Type HT chimneys
in the Standard for Chimneys Factory-Built, Residential Type and Building
Heating Appliance, UL 103, or High Temperature (650°C) Standard ULC S-629 for
Canada. The cook stove is designed to be used with a 6” (150mm) flue
connection.
