1. Secure child restraint to the vehicle seat.
•
Recline Stand is flipped to the Upright position
(page 24).
• Install with the LATCH system (p. 25) or the
vehicle seat belt (p. 29).
• Install locking clip, if necessary (p. 35).
2. Set the child in the child restraint.
Top of the child’s ears are at or below the child
restraint seat back.
3. Make necessary adjustments.
•
Harness straps MUST be on the child’s shoulders
and snug with no more than two-fingers width
of space between the child and the harness
strap (p. 11).
• Crotch strap is snug against the child (p. 34).
4. Fasten the buckle. Refer to pages 10/11.
5. Position and connect chest clip.
Chest clip/harness tie MUST be at armpit
level (pp. 10/11).
6. Check your work.
•
Recline Stand is flipped to the Upright
position (p. 24).
• The child restraint DOES NOT move more
than 1 in. (25 mm) forward or side-to-side
(pp. 27 and 30).
• The child’s back and bottom are flat against the
back and bottom surfaces of the child restraint.
• Shoulder harness straps MUST start at or above
shoulder height, using the strap slots closest to
your child’s shoulders (p. 32).
• Buckle tongues are fully engaged.
Using the Tribute™
Forward-facing
WARNING
If your child weighs more than 40 lbs (18 kg) or their
shoulders are above the highest harness level, you MUST
discontinue use or the child restraint will not protect
your child.
Child Requirements:
• Weight: 20 to 40 lbs (9 to 18 kg)
• Maximum Height: No greater than 40 inches
(101 cm) AND the top of the child’s ears are at
or below the child restraint seat back.
• Age: At least one year of age.
IMPORTANT: Once your child exceeds 40 lbs (18 kg)
OR is taller than 40 inches (101 cm) they can no longer
safely use this child restraint and you should consider
using a booster seat.
