The LATCH harness must be as tight as possible.
Using your full weight, push the child restraint firmly
into the vehicle seat, while pulling up on the LATCH
harness to tighten.
Check your work. If you can move the child
restraint more than 1 inch (25 mm) forward or side-
to-side at the LATCH path C, the LATCH harness is
not tight enough and you MUST try again, or install
with the vehicle seat belt.
Refer to your vehicle owner’s manual to locate the
lower anchors on your vehicle seat. Attach the right
hook D to the right anchor E, and the left hook to
the left anchor.
DOUBLE CHECK that the LATCH hook is fully
engaged by pulling hard on the LATCH harness.
DO NOT use this child restraint if it moves more than
1 in. (25 mm) forward or side-to-side at the LATCH path.
Serious injury or death may result from poor installation.
If you can not tightly secure the child restraint, try
again, move it to another location, or install with the
vehicle seat belt.

Make sure
that the harness
straps are in one of the top three
strap slots A.
The harness straps MUST be at
or above shoulder height B,
using the strap slots closest to
your child’s shoulders. This will
provide more room for your
toddler to fit comfortably.
WARNING
DO NOT use the lowest set of harness slots for
forward-facing. The harness may not properly restrain
the child in the event of a crash.
