Install the additional frame between the fan and mounting frame, or move the fan further into the attic, maintaining 36 inches of clearance to the roof. Also, ensure all screws and bolts are tightened and that there's enough clearance above the unit (minimum 36 inches). Verify adequate Net Free Air (NFA) exhaust, as inadequate NFA can cause the unit to work harder and be noisier.
