DRAINAGE SYSTEMS
9.1 General
All water is drained by gravity to overboard thru-
hull ttings located in the hull above the water
line. It is important to check the drain system
frequently to ensure it is free owing and that the
hoses on the thru-hull ttings are secure and not
leaking. Please review the drainage schematic
to become familiar with the location of the drain
thru-hull ttings.
9.2 Cockpit Sole Drains
Your Everglades has two scupper drains located in
the rear of the cockpit. A ap built into the scup-
per drain tting on 275/295 models reduces the
surge of seawater through the scupper and into
the cockpit while maneuvering or in rough water.
The scupper drain thru-hull ttings are in the trim
tab wells on the 325 Center Console
Water is channeled away from all hatches by a
gutter or drain rail system. The water then drains
overboard through the scupper drain system.
Ball valves in each scupper drain hose on 275/295
models can be closed to prevent seawater from
owing into the cockpit through the scupper drain
system in an emergency. These valves should al-
ways be open during normal operating conditions.
Make sure to open and close each valve at least
once a month to keep the valves free and ensure
they will work if you need them.
9.3 Hardtop Drains
There is a hole drilled in the leg bases on Hardtop
frames to prevent water from being trapped within
the legs. Additional drain holes are drilled in the
tubing to drain other areas as required.
Always make sure the leg drain holes are clear
when the boat is laid up for the winter. Water
trapped inside the legs could freeze and cause
the legs to split.

9.4 Bilge Drainage
The bilge pumps are activated both manually by
switches in the helm switch panel and automati-
cally by oat switches near each pump in the bilge.
The automatic oat switches remain activated
when the battery switch is in the OFF position
and the batteries are connected. All bilge pumps
pump water out of thru-hull ttings located above
the waterline in the hull.
