      If your Exmark Lawn Mower engine won't start, starts hard, or fails to keep running, consider these possible causes: 1. The fuel tank might be empty. Fill it up. 2. The fuel shutoff valve could be closed. Open it. 3. The oil level in the crankcase might be low. Add oil. 4. The throttle may not be in the correct position. Position the throttle control midway between the “SLOW” and “FAST” positions. 5. The fuel filter might be dirty. Replace it. 6. The air cleaner might be dirty. Clean or replace the air cleaner element. 7. Electrical connections might be corroded, loose, or faulty. Check and clean the electrical connections, applying dielectric grease before reconnecting. 8. A relay or switch may be defective. In this case, it's best to contact an Authorized Service Dealer.
