•Avoidstarting,stoppingorturningthemachine
onslopes.Avoidmakingsuddenchangesinspeed
ordirection;turnslowlyandgradually.
•DoNotoperateamachineunderanyconditions
wheretraction,steeringorstabilityisinquestion.
Beawarethatoperatingthemachineonwetgrass,
acrossslopesordownhillmaycausethemachine
tolosetraction.Lossoftractiontothedrive
wheelsmayresultinslidingandalossofbraking
andsteering.Themachinecanslideevenifthe
drivewheelsarestopped.
•Removeormarkobstaclessuchasditches,holes,
ruts,bumps,rocksorotherhiddenhazards.Tall
grasscanhideobstacles.Uneventerraincould
overturnthemachine.
•Useextracarewhileoperatingwithaccessories
orattachments,suchasgrasscollectionsystems.
Thesecanchangethestabilityofthemachine
andcausealossofcontrol.Followdirectionsfor
counterweights.
•Ifpossible,keepthedeckloweredtotheground
whileoperatingonslopes.Raisingthedeckwhile
operatingonslopescancausethemachineto
becomeunstable.
RolloverProtectionSystem(ROPS)
Safety
WARNING
ThereisnorolloverprotectionwhentheROPS
(rollbar)isdown.Wheelsdroppingoveredges,
ditches,steepbanks,orwatercancauserollovers,
whichmayresultinseriousinjury,deathor
drowning.
•DoNotremovetheROPS.
•Keeptherollbarinthefullyraisedand
lockedpositionandalwayswearyourseat
beltwhenevertherollbarisup.
•Lowertherollbaronlywhenabsolutely
necessary.
•DoNotwearseatbeltwhentherollbaris
down.
•Driveslowlyandcarefully.
•Raisetherollbarassoonasclearance
permits.
•Becertainthattheseatbeltcanbereleasedquickly
intheeventofanemergency.
•Checkcarefullyforoverheadclearances(i.e.
branches,doorways,andelectricalwires)before
drivingunderanyobjectsandDoNotcontact
them.
•Intheeventofarollover,takethemachineto
anAuthorizedServiceDealertohavetheROPS
inspected.ReplacedamagedROPScomponents.
Donotrepairoralterthem.
•OnlyExmarkapprovedaccessoriesorattachments
maybeaddedtotheROPS.
