Why won't my Exmark Lawn Mower engine start?
    • P
      ptuckerAug 16, 2025
If your Exmark Lawn Mower engine won't start, starts with difficulty, or stops running, there are several possible causes. Make sure the fuel tank is full and the fuel shutoff valve is open. For a cold engine, ensure the choke is in the 'ON' position, or 'OFF' for a warm engine, and the throttle control is midway between 'SLOW' and 'FAST'. Replace the fuel filter if it's dirty. Check and reconnect the spark plug wire if it's loose, or clean, adjust, or replace the spark plug if it's faulty. Clean or replace the air cleaner element if it's dirty and check the electrical connections for good contact, cleaning and reconnecting them as necessary.
