8.Pushthebladecontrolswitchdownandmove
eitherOPCleverintotheoperatingposition.
9.ContinueholdingeitherOPCleverinthe
operatingpositionandpullupontheblade
controlswitch(PTO)andrelease.Theclutch
shouldengageandthemowerbladesbegin
rotating.
10.Pushthebladecontrolswitch(PTO)downtothe
offposition.Thebladesshouldstoprotating.
11.Withtheenginerunning,pullupthebladecontrol
switch(PTO)andreleaseeitherOPCleverfrom
theoperatingposition.Thebladesshouldnot
rotate.
Note:Ifbothoftheleversarereleasedwiththe
speedcontrolnotinneutral,theenginewillkill
(withorwithoutPTOengaged).
CheckforLooseHardware
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
1.Stopengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removekey.Engageparkingbrake.
2.Visuallyinspectmachineforanyloosehardware
oranyotherpossibleproblem.Tightenhardware
orcorrecttheproblembeforeoperating.
ServiceAirCleaner
ServiceInterval:Every250hours—Replace
theprimaryaircleaner
elementcheck
secondaryaircleaner
element;replaceifdirty.

undersevereconditions.

3.Theoildrainhoseassemblyislocatedontheleft
sideoftheengine.
Placepanundermachinetocatchoil.Removeoil
drainplug.Allowoiltodrainandreplaceoildrain
plug.Torqueplugto20-24ft-lb(27-33N-m).
4.ReplacetheoillterpertheEngineOwner's
Manual.Cleanaroundtheoillterandcarefully
removethelterbyunscrewingit.Makesureno
oildrainsontothebeltdriveorclutchthrough
theholesintheenginedeck.Beforethenew
lterisinstalled,applyathincoatingofExmark
4–CyclePremiumEngineOilonthesurfaceof
therubberseal.Turnlterclockwiseuntilrubber
sealcontactsthelteradapter,thentightenlter
anadditional2/3to3/4turn.
5.Cleanaroundoilllcapandremovecap.Fillto
speciedcapacityandreplacecap.
6.UseoilrecommendedintheCheckEngineOil
Levelsection.DoNotoverll.Starttheengine
andcheckforleaks.Stopengineandrecheckoil
level.
7.Wipeupanyspilledoilfromenginedeck
mountingsurfaces.
CheckHydraulicOilLevel
ServiceInterval:Every50hours
1.Stopengineandwaitforallmovingpartstostop,
andremovekey.Engageparkingbrake.
2.Cleanareaaroundhydraulicreservoircapand
removecap.Oillevelshouldbetothetopofthe
bafeinsidethetank.Ifnot,addoil.UseExmark
