Overview

This document is an owner's manual for an "Expert Grill Outdoor LP Gas Barbecue Grill," Model No. XG10-108-002-01 / GBT2014W. It provides comprehensive instructions for assembly, operation, cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting, along with important safety warnings and a limited warranty.

Function Description:

The Expert Grill Outdoor LP Gas Barbecue Grill is designed for outdoor cooking using liquid propane (LP) gas. It functions as a portable barbecue grill, suitable for residential use. The grill allows users to cook various foods by heating them over a burner fueled by an LP gas tank. Key features include a lid, cooking grid, heat plate, and a regulator/control knob for adjusting flame height and turning the gas supply on/off. The design emphasizes portability with foldable legs and a lockable lid for transport.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Fuel Type: Liquid Propane (LP) gas only.
  • LP Gas Cylinder Compatibility: Designed to operate with a 1 lb. (453 g or 465 g) disposable LP gas tank (DOT 39 Cylinder), measuring approximately 7.75 in. (19.7 cm) or 10.6 in. (27 cm) high, and 3.875 in. (9.8 cm) wide or 2.9 in. (7.4 cm) wide, respectively.
  • Regulator Model: Must use regulator model # R801 / KR-101.
  • Temperature Limits: Oil or grease should never exceed 400°F (200°C). Heated liquids remain scalding until cooled to 115°F (45°C) or less.
  • Clearance Requirements:
    • 10 ft (3.05 m) from any structure, combustible material, or other gas cylinder.
    • 25 ft (7.62 m) from any flammable liquid.
    • For apartment dwellers, if allowed, use outside on the ground floor with a ten-foot (3.05 m) clearance from any structure. Do NOT use on or under balconies.
  • Assembly Time: Approximately 15 minutes (typical).
  • Materials: Contains brass material, which exposes users to lead (California Proposition 65 warning). Also contains chemicals including benzene (California Proposition 65 warning).

Usage Features:

  • Outdoor Use Only: The grill is strictly for outdoor use and must not be operated in any enclosed area, under an overhang, or roof.
  • Unattended Operation: Never operate the appliance unattended, especially when cooking fatty meats or with the lid closed for extended periods.
  • Gas Leak Detection: Users must perform a leak test before each use and every time the LP cylinder is connected. A leak detection solution (one part liquid dishwashing soap with three parts water) is used to check for bubbles at connections.
  • Lighting Instructions:
    1. Open the lid.
    2. Check for obstructions in burner airflow.
    3. Connect the LP gas tank.
    4. Ensure the regulator/control knob is in the "OFF" position.
    5. Insert a long lit match near the burner through the hole in the bottom bowl.
    6. Turn the control knob to "HIGH."
    7. If ignition doesn't occur within 5 seconds, turn the knob to "OFF," wait 5 minutes, and repeat.
    8. Observe the burner flame for proper height and full illumination (soft blue flames with yellow tips, 1-2 inches high, are normal).
  • Turning Off: Turn the regulator/control knob to the "OFF" position, then disconnect the LP gas tank.
  • Cooking: Preheat the grill on "HIGH" with the lid closed for at least 15 minutes for the first use to remove manufacturing oils and dissipate odors. Use protective gloves and long-handle tongs for food placement. Cook until desired internal food temperatures are achieved.
  • Flare-up Control: Flare-ups are a natural part of grilling but can be excessive. To minimize them, trim excess fat from meats, cook high-fat meats on "LOW" or indirectly, and ensure the grill is on a hard, level, non-combustible surface allowing grease to drain. If a grease fire occurs, turn the regulator/control knob to "OFF" and close the lid (do NOT use water).
  • Portability: Features foldable legs and a lockable lid for easy transport. Legs must be fully open and secured before lighting.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Cleaning and Inspection: The grill should be thoroughly cleaned and inspected on a regular basis. All cleaning and maintenance must be performed when the grill is cool and the fuel supply is disconnected.
  • Burner/Venturi Tube Inspection: Regularly check and clean burner/venturi tubes for insects, nests, or other obstructions, which can lead to fire.
  • Hose Inspection: Clean and inspect the hose before each use for abrasion, wear, cuts, or leaks. Replace if damaged.
  • Surface Cleaning: Wipe surfaces with mild dishwashing detergent or baking soda solution. For stubborn areas, use a citrus-based degreaser and a nylon scrubbing brush, then rinse and air dry.
  • Main Burner Cleaning:
    1. Turn the control knob to "OFF" and disconnect the LP gas tank.
    2. Remove the regulator/control knob, wind guard, cooking grid, and heat plate.
    3. Disconnect the igniter wire (if applicable) and remove the burner.
    4. Clean food residue and dirt from the burner surface.
    5. Clean clogged ports with a stiff wire (e.g., paper clip).
    6. Inspect the burner for damage (cracks/holes) and replace if necessary.
    7. Clean the burner inlet with a small bottle brush or compressed air.
    8. Reinstall all components and perform a leak test.
  • Storage:
    1. Turn the LP gas tank valve to "CLOSED" and the regulator/control knob to "OFF."
    2. Disconnect the LP gas tank.
    3. Clean all surfaces.
    4. Lightly coat the burner(s) and cooking grid with cooking oil to prevent rusting.
    5. If storing indoors, disconnect the LP tank and store it outdoors in a well-ventilated area, out of direct sunlight, with a protective cap.
    6. Cover the grill if storing outdoors for weather protection.
  • Replacement Parts: Use only RevoAce Inc. Limited factory-authorized replacement parts. Any alteration or use of non-authorized parts will void the warranty and can create safety hazards.
