6. Select the audio output (see Audio Output Selection on page 7).
7. If composite mode is selected, press the front panel LAYOUT PRESET button and select a layout (see Layout
Presets on previous page).
8. Press the desired front panel input buttons.
9. Press the front panel Record button.
10. Monitor the record time and and remaining time on the LCD default display cycle.
11. Press Pause to temporarily suspend recording. Press Pause again to resume the recording and place a chapter
marker on the le. Press Stop to cease recording and place an end of le marker on the recording.
Streaming
Both SMP models support multiple simultaneous stream encoders. Additionally, the SMP 352 supports Channel
A and Channel B archive streaming. Each can have a different resolution, frame rate, and bitrate and independent
streaming protocol methods. The output defaults to both record and stream the selected input.
Archive (Channel A and Channel B in Dual Channel mode) — Highest quality for both recording and
streaming (default: Pull, unicast RTP/UDP).
Confidence — For streaming only (default: Pull, unicast RTP/UDP).
NOTES:
To view a condence stream on the web-based UI, leave the condence encode setting at default values.
Preview will not be shown if version Chrome 42 or later is used.
To upload a recording to a server share folder:
Files recorded to internal memory can also be uploaded automatically (after the recording completes) to a server
shared folder via FTP, SFTP or CIFS (see the SMP300 SeriesHelp le for instructions and additional le publishing
options).
To decode the archive and confidence streams:
To view the condence stream, go to the embedded webpage AV Controls Panel. The SMPmodels use the
Extron SMP plugin to view the streams. Archive and condence streams can also be decoded using an
Extron SMD101 or SMD 202 decoder or compatible third party players such as VLC
®
and QuickTime
®
. To change
the default viewer, see the SMP300 Series User Guide.
Access Internal Content
The SMP300 Series device has internal memory reserved for local content. Internal content is viewed from the web-
based user interface Files Management tab (see the SMP300 Series User Guide or the SMP300 SeriesHelp le
for complete instructions).
Recording folders and les can be transferred directly from the SMP 300 Series device to a computer on the same
network using an SFTP client such as Filezilla
®
, a free FTP program. Connect to the SMP300 Series device at
sftp://<SMP 351 IP>:22022. Log in using “admin” or “user” credentials (see the SMP 300 Series User Guide for
more information).
About the Web-based User Interface
The web-based user interface can view, congure, and control the SMP 300 Series device with a PC from the LAN
port using a standard web browser (see Network Configuration on page6). This section details how to access
the web-based user interface. For more information on using the web-based user interface (see the SMP300 Series
User Guide available on the www.extron.com or click the
?
button on the user interface page (see figure 7 on next
page) to open the SMP300 Series Help File).
