  If your Finn Seeders are experiencing plugging or clogging, here are some steps to take: 1. Disengage the slurry pump clutch and shut down the engine. 2. Remove the two clamps on each side of the recirculation valve. 3. Inspect the valve assembly, recirculation nozzle in the discharge pipe, and the recirculation pipe going into the tank, and clear any obstructions. 4. Replace the valve assembly and slide the seals back into place, lubricating the outside of the seals with grease. 5. If there's an obstruction in the discharge nozzle, use the nozzle cleaning rod attached to the underside of the guard rail to clear it.

  If you observe foam in the tank and air entrainment in your Finn Seeders, consider these solutions: As the slurry level drops, reduce the agitator speed. You can also add 2 to 3 oz (6 to 9 cl) of an antifoaming agent to the tank. If you identify a problematic additive, add it last or avoid it altogether, unless it’s the water. Limit recirculation time as much as possible. Open the pump suction bleed valve to release trapped air, and close it once the air stops.

Loosen the suction pipe clamps and, if material is in the tank, shut off the suction line valve. 3. Reach into the pump and remove the obstruction; if it's jammed, the pump suction cover may need to be removed. 4. Reassemble all removed components. 5. Open the suction line valve.

If it is jammed with fertilizer or lime, remove the cover and clean the interior. If the impeller is rusted to the suction cover plate, pull the cover and remove the rust.

  If there is an obstruction in the sump area of your Finn Seeders, you can clear it by backflushing through the discharge plumbing with the water supply hose. Alternatively, remove the drain plug and use a long pole through the opening to reach into the sump area, remove the obstruction, and replace the drain cap. You can also use a pipe or pole through the loading hatch opening to dislodge the obstruction.
