2.6 Firebird Towing Support
The Firebird Towing Support offers several advantages:
All tow forces are transmitted directly to the risers. The quick release is easily
connected with square quick-links.
The towing support can increase performance by as much as 10-15% while on
the line.
During towing the angle of attack is increased. The towing support
automatically compensates for this by accelerating the glider.
Assembling the towing support:
Acceleration Line
Triangel quick link
Square quick link
Loo
Put the riser into the loop of the towing support.
Attach the riser and the towing support to the harness karabiner.
Connect the triangle quick link to the accelerator line.
Attach the quick release to the square quick link.
Attention: Both the riser and the towing support must be fixed into the harness
karabiner. The accelerator line should be loose before towing and in normal
flight. If necessary, extend the connection with a line or quick link to ensure
this is the case.
