AC
(Power
cord)
After
completing
the
connections
of
all
system
compo-
nents,
make
sure
that
the
POWER
switch
on
the
front
panel
NOTE:
Hold
the
power
cord
by
the
plug
when
disconnecting
it
from
the
power
source,
Do
not
pull
on
the
cord.
of
this
amplifier
is
set
to
OFF.
Then
plug
the
power
cord
into
an
AC
wall
outlet.
CAUTION:
If
you
are
not
sure
whether
your
speakers
can
safely
handle
the
maximum
audio-power
output
of
your
amplifier,
do
not
turn
the
amplifier’s
VOLUME
control
up
too
high.
FAILURE

This
section
describes
the
amplifier’s
controls
in
the
order
in
which
you
would
normally
use
them.
Follow
the
instructions
in
step-by-step
sequence
and
in
a
very
short
time
you
will
master
complete
operation
of
the
unit.
1.
POWER
switch
Set
the
VOLUME
control
knob
to
the
position
marked
“0”
(minimum)
before
switching
on
power.
Press
in
the
POWER
button
to
switch
on
the
set,
and
power
is
applied
to
the
amplifier.
Simultaneously,
the
power
indicator
will
go
on.
Release
the
button
to
switch
off
the
set.

FUNCTION
selector
Provided
for
the
selection
of
program
sources.

Sound
signals
are
delivered
to
the
ampli-
fier
from
the
system
component
connect-
ed
to
the
AUX
INPUT
jacks
on
the
rear
panel.

For
playing
records
on
your
turntable
(with
magnetic
cartridge)
connected
to
the
PHONO
INPUT
jacks
on
the
rear
panel.
TUNER...

For
listening
to
AM
or
FM
broadcasts
on
your
tuner
connected
to
the
TUNER
INPUT
jacks
on
the
rear
panel.

3.
VOLUME
control
Turn
this
knob
clockwise
to
increase,
and
counterclockwise
to
decrease
the
volume.
The
VOLUME
control
adjusts
the
volume
of
both
channels.
4.
BALANCE
control
The
BALANCE
control
knob
is
used
to
adjust
for
equal
volume
from
the
Left
and
Right
speakers.
Turning
the
control
to
the
left
will
reduce
the
volume
of
the
right
speaker
and
turning
the
control
to
the
right
will
reduce
the
volume
of
the
left
speaker.
If
no
adjustment
is
required
keep
this
control
knob
in
the
center
position.

A
perfect
balance
is
achieved
between
the
left
and
right
speakers
when
the
sound
seems
to
come
from
midway
between
them.
Adjustment
should
be
made
with
the
MODE
selector
in
the
MONO
position.

BASS
&
TREBLE
controls
There
are
separate
bass
and
treble
controls.
Turn
the
knobs
clockwise
to
boost
and
counterclockwise
to
attenuate
low-
and
high-frequency
sound.
When
the
controls
are
set
to
the
center
position,
normal
tone
quality
sound
is
delivered
through
the
speaker
systems.

SUBSONIC
FILTER
switch
Push
this
button
in,
to
the
ON
position
only
when
playing
old
phonograph
records
which
contain
rumble,
or
when
using
a
record
player
which
produces
low-frequency
noise.
At
all
other times
this
button
should
be
set
to
the
OFF
position.
.
SPEAKERS
selector
Set
this
selector
to
A,
B
or
A+B
positions,
depending
on
the
rear
terminals
to
which
your
speaker
system
is
connected.
A+B
position
should
be
selected
if
two
sets
of
speakers
are
connected.
With
the
SPEAKERS
selector
set
to
the
A+B
position
and
only
one
set
of
speakers
connected
no
sound
will
be
heard.
Use
the
OFF
position
when
you
intention-
ally
want
to
turn
off
your
speakers
(to
listen
through
headphones,
or
to
silence
the
music
system
momentarily,
etc.).
