Assembly Instructions

Step 1: Dock Preparation and Bracket Attachment

Prepare the dock by turning it upside down and attaching wheel kit brackets.

The FLOE Quick Attach Roll-In Medium Wheel Kit is an accessory designed to provide mobility and adjustable support for FLOE dock sections. This kit is compatible with 4', 5', 6', and 8' wide dock sections, offering flexibility for various dock configurations. It is available in two main kits: a pair (P/N 510-27300-00) and a single (P/N 510-27310-00), each including specific fasteners and components.

Function Description:

The primary function of the wheel kit is to allow for easy roll-in and roll-out of dock sections, simplifying seasonal installation and removal. It provides adjustable height support for the dock, enabling the user to level the dock surface and adapt to varying water depths. The quick-attach feature facilitates connection to other dock sections, allowing for expandable and customizable dock layouts.

Important Technical Specifications:

Water Depth Range: Designed for use in approximately 18" to 45" of water.
Dock Frame Clearance: Recommended minimum of 8" above the water when properly adjusted. For high wave conditions exceeding 15", the dock should be raised accordingly.
Leg Adjustment Range:
- Fully Extended: Provides a 14" range of adjustment from the top of the dock, suitable for water depths up to 45".
- Fully Collapsed: Offers a 13" range of manual adjustment, suitable for water depths down to 18".
Inner Leg Extension: The inner wheel kit leg should not be extended more than 16" to maintain stability and structural integrity. A leg adjustment chart provides recommended inner leg extensions based on water depth:
- 18"-24" water depth: 3-1/4" extended inner leg
- 24"-30" water depth: 6-1/4" extended inner leg
- 30"-38" water depth: 12-1/4" extended inner leg
- 38"-45" water depth: 16" extended inner leg

Sold Separately: Plastic dock wheels (Drilled 010-06001-00, Floating 010-06002-00) and Sand pads (P/N 510-17000-00).

Usage Features:

Installation:
- Requires turning the dock upside down and blocking corners to protect the decking.
- Wheel kit brackets slide onto the wheel kit legs.
- Wheel kit legs are inserted into welded pockets on the dock.
- Standard installation positions both spindles facing outwards. For boat lift clearance, wheel kits can be turned 180°, though some stability may be lost.
- Center and side braces are attached to the leg bracket and dock side bracket using specific bolts, washers, and nuts.
- Quick Connects are attached to the wheel kit end of the dock section for connecting multiple sections. They should be spaced as far apart as possible to prevent shifting.
- Dock sections are placed in an "installation/removal position" for stress-free pivoting during connection, then moved to a "set position" once in place.
Adjustability:
- The inner leg height is adjusted by loosening a 1/2" set bolt and extending the leg.
- Dock height is adjusted using a FLOE speed wrench or 1-1/8" socket and cordless drill on the adjusting nut at the top of the dock. Clockwise lowers the dock, counterclockwise raises it.
- A level should be used to ensure all dock surfaces are level.
Wheel Attachment: Wheels (sold separately) slide onto the spindle, followed by a 2-1/2” washer. A spindle clip secures the wheel by snapping into two holes on the spindle.

Maintenance Features:

Torque Specifications:
- 1/2" bolts securing the wheel kit to the dock: 20 ft-lb.
- 3/8" bolts for the bottom of the bracket: 6 ft-lbs maximum.
- 3/8" nuts for center and side braces: 10 ft-lb.
- 1/2" set bolt for inner leg height: 40 ft-lb once height is set.
- Quick Connect bolts: 5 ft-lbs.
- Crucial Warning: Never adjust dock legs with an impact wrench. Do not exceed 15 ft-lbs of force when adjusting the nuts, as overtightening will damage the mechanism and crush the braces. If the adjusting nut cannot be turned, the end of the adjustment range has been reached.
Cordless Drill Usage: When adjusting legs with a cordless drill, ensure it is in clutch mode to prevent sudden stops, which can cause injury or damage. Corded drills should not be used due to electrocution risk.
Post-Adjustment: Once the dock is set and leveled, plastic caps should be re-inserted into the adjustment nut hole.
