Remove test leads from the meter before
opening the battery door.
Use only a properly installed, single 9 V
battery to power the meter.
Follow all equipment safety procedures.
Check the meter’s fuses (see “Testing the
Fuses”) before measuring current.
Never touch the probe to a voltage
source when the test leads are plugged
into the 10 A or 40 mA input jacks.
The use of makeshift fuses and the short-
circuiting of fuse holders is prohibited.
To avoid false readings, which could lead
to possible electric shock or personal
injury, replace the battery as soon as the
battery indicator (U) appears.
International symbols used on the meter and in this
manual are explained in Table 1.
