• Remove test leads from the meter before
opening the battery door.
• Use only a properly installed, single 9 V
battery to power the meter.
• Follow all equipment safety procedures.
• Check the meter’s fuses (see “Testing the
Fuses”) before measuring current.
• Never touch the probe to a voltage
source when the test leads are plugged
into the 10 A or 40 mA input jacks.
• The use of makeshift fuses and the short-
circuiting of fuse holders is prohibited.
• To avoid false readings, which could lead
to possible electric shock or personal
injury, replace the battery as soon as the
battery indicator (U) appears.
