  The pilot light might go out due to several reasons. There could be a severe restriction in the gas supply, a faulty thermocouple, a blocked pilot or lint gauze. The control knob might also be fouling the indicator plate. Clear any obstructions, replace the pilot unit if the thermocouple is faulty, clean out any blockages, ensure the control knob doesn't foul the indicator plate, or hold the control knob in for longer.

Check the pressure with the fire on high, and if the pressure is low, remove any restriction in the pipework or valve. Ensure all isolators are adequately sized and fully open and the meter pressure is adequate. Also, check if the firebox grommet seal is missing and rectify.
