Ford 2001 Windstar - Pinpoint Test G: the Lampout Warning Indicator Is Inoperative

PINPOINT TEST G: THE LAMPOUT WARNING INDICATOR IS INOPERATIVE
NOTE: Verify that the FEM and REM operate correctly and communicate with the instrument cluster and message center.
 Does the fuel gauge operate correctly?
Yes
GO to F2.
No
REFER toSection 413-01.
F2 CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION
Disconnect all instrument cluster connectors.
Check for:
 corrosion
 pushed-out pins
Connect all instrument cluster connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
 Is the concern still present?
Yes
INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER toSection 413-01.
No
The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
CONDITIONS DETAILS/RESULTS/ACTIONS
G1 CHECK THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS OPERATION
Operate each exterior light. Observe the operation.
 Do all exterior lights operate correctly?
Yes
GO to G2.
No
REFER toSection 417-01.
G2 CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION
Disconnect all instrument cluster connectors.
Check for:
 corrosion
 pushed-out pins
Connect all instrument cluster connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
 Is the concern still present?
Yes
INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER toSection 413-01.
No
The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
