Thecarbonmonoxidecontainedintheexhaustgasoftheengineisdan-
gerousnotonlybecauseitcausespoisoningbutalsobecauseitformsan
explosivemixturewiththeair.Inclosedenvironments,carbonmonoxide
isextremelydangerousasitcanreachcriticalconcentrationlevelsina
veryshortspaceoftime.
Ifaidingapoisonvictiminaclosedroom:
•
Immediatelyventilatetheroomtoreducetheconcentrationofgas.
•
Whenaccessingtheroom,therescueteamsmustholdtheirbreath,
notlightames,turnonlightsoractivateelectricbellsortelephonesin
ordertopreventexplosions.
•
Bringthepoisonvictimtosafetyinaventilatedroom,orintheopenair,
placingthevictimonhis/hersideifunconscious.

cution.However,intheeventofashortcircuitcaused,forexample,bya
metaltool,theremaybetheriskofburnscausedbytheobjectoverheat-
ingduetoconductionoftheelectriccurrent.
Inthatcase:

Removetheobjectthatcausedtheshortcircuitusingdevicethatpro-
videsufcientthermalinsulation.

Ifpresent,usethemainswitchtocutoffthepowersupply.
