Overview

This document describes the Fridgemaster Refrigerator, model MUL4892E, a household appliance designed for storing fresh food at temperatures above 0°C.

Function Description:

The Fridgemaster Refrigerator is primarily intended for the domestic storage of fresh food and beverages. It operates as a single-phase alternating current appliance, requiring a 220-240V/50Hz power supply. The refrigerator features a temperature sensor, an evaporator cooling unit, a light switch, a door seal, various shelves (upper, middle, lower, and glass shelves), a crisper drawer with a cover, a temperature regulator, and an LED light. The appliance is designed to maintain specific temperature ranges for different food types across its compartments.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model: MUL4892E
  • Power Supply: Single-phase alternating current of 220-240V/50Hz. If voltage fluctuations exceed this range, an A.C. Automatic voltage regulator of more than 350W is recommended.
  • Refrigerant: Isobutene (R600a), a natural gas with high environmental compatibility, which is flammable.
  • Insulation Blowing Gas: Flammable.
  • Climate Class: Performs well in climate classes N to T.
    • SN: from +10 °C to +32 °C
    • N: from +16 °C to +32 °C
    • ST: from +16 °C to +38 °C
    • T: from +16 °C to +43 °C
  • Ventilation Requirements: 50-70 mm space from the back to the wall, at least 100 mm from the top, at least 100 mm from the side to the wall, and a clear space upfront to allow doors to open 135°.
  • Door Opening Direction: Can be changed from right to left, if required by the installation site.

Usage Features:

  • Temperature Control: The appliance features an "A" dial for temperature setting and on/off control. Rotating the dial clockwise switches the appliance on. Rotating it back to the "eco" symbol switches it off (though the appliance remains powered).
  • Temperature Adjustment: Rotating the "A" dial clockwise sets the desired temperature. Longer lines on the dial indicate lower temperatures (cooler), while shorter lines indicate higher temperatures (warmer). The recommended setting is the "eco" position. If the room temperature is below 16°C, setting the dial to the longest line is recommended.
  • Storage Compartments:
    • Fridge (+2 ~ +8°C): Suitable for eggs, cooked food, packaged food, fruits, vegetables, dairy products, cakes, drinks, and other non-freezable foods.
    • Freezer () (< -18°C), () (< -18°C), () (< -12°C), () (< -6°C):** These compartments are suitable for storing pre-frozen food like seafood (fish, shrimp, shellfish) and meat products. Recommended storage times vary by star rating (e.g., 3 months for ***, 2 months for **, 1 month for *). One-, two-, and three-star compartments are not suitable for freezing fresh food.
    • 0 star (-6 ~ 0°C): For fresh pork, beef, fish, chicken, and some packaged processed foods. Recommended for consumption within the same day, preferably not later than 3 days. Also for partially packed/wrapped up encapsulated processed foods (non-freezable).
    • Chill (-2 ~ +3°C): For fresh/frozen pork, beef, chicken, freshwater aquatic products. Recommended for consumption within 7 days below 0°C and above 0°C (preferably no more than 2 days). Seafood (less than 0°C for 15 days, not recommended to store above 0°C).
    • Fresh Food (0 ~ +4°C): For fresh pork, beef, fish, chicken, cooked food, etc. Recommended to eat within the same day, preferably no more than 3 days.
    • Wine (+5 ~ +20°C): For red wine, white wine, sparkling wine, etc.
  • Movable Shelves/Trays: Various glass, plastic, or wire shelves are included and can be positioned as desired using the runners on the refrigerator walls.
  • Door Shelves: Can be adjusted to different heights to accommodate various food package sizes.
  • Vegetable Drawer: Suitable for storing fruits and vegetables.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: For hygienic reasons, the appliance interior and accessories should be cleaned regularly, at least every two months.
    • Before Cleaning: Disconnect from the main power supply (switch off, remove plug, or shut off circuit breaker).
    • Procedure: Remove food, store in a cool, covered place. Do not use steam cleaners, metal objects, ethereal oils, organic solvents, abrasive cleansers, or sharp objects. Clean with a cloth and lukewarm water, using commercially available dishwashing detergents if needed. Wipe with fresh water and a clean dish cloth.
    • Condenser: Clean dust accumulation on the condenser at the back of the appliance once a year with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner (for outside-condenser products).
    • Drain Hole: Check and clear the water drain hole on the rear wall of the refrigerator compartment using a soft green peg to avoid damage.
  • Defrosting: Water from the defrosting option in the fresh food storage compartment is automatically drained into a drip tray through a drain pipe at the back.
  • Door Seal Maintenance: If the door seal is not air-tight, carefully warm the leaking sections with a hair dryer (on a cool setting) and shape the seal by hand to ensure it sits correctly.
  • Light Bulb Replacement: The LED light must not be replaced by the user. If damaged, contact the customer helpline for assistance.
  • Water Dispenser Cleaning (for relevant models): Clean water tanks if unused for 48 hours; flush the water system.
  • Disposal: The appliance must not be disposed of as household waste. It should be taken to an authorized collection center for waste electrical and electronic equipment processing. Packaging materials are recyclable and should be disposed of in a suitable waste collection container. Before disposal, pull out the mains plug and cut off the power cord. Refrigerant and insulation gases must be disposed of professionally to prevent eye injuries or ignition, ensuring the refrigerant circuit is not damaged.

Safety Warnings and Precautions:

  • Read the user manual carefully before installation and first use.
  • Keep packaging away from children to prevent suffocation.
  • When discarding the appliance, pull the plug, cut the connection cable, and remove the door to prevent children from getting trapped or suffering electric shock. If replacing an older appliance with a spring lock, disable the lock.
