Switching on the notebook
The battery mu st be fully charged before runn ing the notebook from the battery
for the first time. Please note that the first time the battery is charged will r equire
considerably more time than will be needed on subsequ ent occasions.

► Slide the release button in direction of the
arrow (1) and open the LCD s creen (2).

► Press the ON/OFF swi
tch (1) to switch
the notebook on.
The power-o n indicator is lit.
Windows XP:
You can configure the on/off button under Start - (Settings) - Control Panel -
Performance and Maintenance - Power Options - Advanced.
Windows Vista:
You can configure the on/off button under Start - (Settings) - C ontrol
Panel - Mobile PC - Power Options.
If you have assigned a password, you must enter this whe n requested in order
to start the operating s ystem. Detailed information can be found in the "Security
functions" section of the "Professional No tebook" O perating Manual.
