2.8.2 Connecting the IIDTool
Once the OBDII connector is located, the unit can now be connected.
Connection steps
1- Ensure compliance with safety instructions and tips to avoid battery drainage (section 2.7)
2- Switch on the ignition or start the engine if outside respecting the safety instructions (section
2.7.1)
3- Locate the OBDII connector (previous section)
4- Insert the IIDTool into the OBDII connector
5- Waitforabout30secondswhilethetoolisscanningelectroniccommunicationbuses.*
-II The message “ IIDTool Ready ” will appear on the vehicle instrument pack display to indicate
that communication has been successfully established.
-If it turns out that communication with one of the buses is not possible, an error message
will appear onthe selected interface** and the currentprocess will be interrupted. See the

6- Launch the IIDTool Interface of choice and navigate as described in the next segment.
*Pro Thiswaitingtimeisonlypresentuponrstconnectionofthetoolonanewvehicleandfollowing
anupdateofthermwareofIIDTool.BT and regular. This waiting time is present when connecting to
a vehicle on which the tool is unlocked or following an update.
**II In some cases, a communication problem on one of the buses will prevent the tool from writing to
the instrument cluster.
