The Gasmate Odyssey BBQ is primarily used for outdoor cooking, offering three stainless steel burners for versatile heat control. It includes a cooking surface with both a grill and a hotplate, allowing for different cooking styles. The integrated trolley provides mobility and storage for a gas cylinder, along with convenient side shelves for food preparation. The high dome hood enables roasting, and an integrated temperature gauge helps monitor cooking temperatures. The barbecue is designed for use with a POL gas cylinder and is certified to Australian Standards, ensuring safety and compliance.

  • Safety Precautions:
    • Always perform a gas leak test before first use and after every gas cylinder refill/reconnection.
    • Ensure all control knobs are OFF before connecting/disconnecting the gas cylinder.
    • Never test for gas leaks with an open flame.
    • Do not move the barbecue while in use or when hot.
    • Do not operate without a regulator.
    • Do not store a spare gas cylinder under or near the barbecue.
    • The hood must be in the open position for lighting.
    • Do not smoke when attempting to ignite burners.
    • Do not leave the barbecue unattended when alight.
    • Accessible parts can become very hot; keep young children away.
    • Do not modify the appliance or replace the grill with an extra hotplate, as this voids the warranty and compromises safety.
    • In case of a gas leak, turn off the cylinder, ventilate the area, and check connections. If the leak persists, contact the fire brigade.
    • In case of fire, turn off the gas at the cylinder and smother flames with a wet cloth, fire blanket, or extinguisher. If the fire is at the cylinder or the valve is inaccessible, contact the fire brigade immediately and cool the cylinder with water.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Cleaning: Proper care and maintenance are essential for prolonging the barbecue's life and maintaining optimal operating condition.
  • Burner Tube Inspection: Spiders and small insects can cause obstructions in burner tubes, leading to "FLASH-BACK" fires. Inspect and clean burner tubes with a soft brush before use and at least every six months.
  • Cooking Surface Cleaning: After cooking, allow the barbecue to cool, then wash the grill plate and grate in a mild soap and warm water solution. Avoid overheating the cooking surface with the hood down or no food on it.
  • Drip Tray Cleaning: Remove and empty the drip tray after each use once it has cooled. Wash periodically with a mild detergent and warm water solution to avoid fat or grease dripping.
  • Post-Use Cleaning: After cooking, allow the BBQ to cool, remove food or cooking residue, and wipe down the plate and grill to remove excess grease and fat. Periodically remove plates and grills to clean the BBQ body.
  • Servicing: Servicing should be conducted annually or more frequently if required, and only by an authorised person.
  • Hose and Regulator: Check for damage to the hose and regulator assembly when changing gas cylinders and replace if necessary with manufacturer-specified parts.
