Only the filter baskets, drip tray and storage tray may be cleaned via an auto-
matic dishwasher.
CAUTIONEnsure to descale the appliance in time (see: ‘Descaling the Water
System’). Excessive deposits of scale could damage the appliance. Additionally, the taste
of your coffee and the performance of the appliance may be influenced unpleasantly.
DISASSEMBLING AND CLEANING THE GRINDER
CAUTIONIt is crucial to switch off the appliance via the ON/OFF but-
ton, before removing the bean hopper! Otherwise, the lock of the bean hopper
could get damaged.
You should empty and clean the bean hopper and grinder regularly to avoid that
stale residues accumulate within the bean hopper and grinder and influence the taste
and odour of your coffee unpleasantly. This is crucial, if you wish to prepare the
appliance for several days without usage.
NOTE
There is no need to empty the bean hopper, bevor removing it. When unlocking
the bean hopper from the grinder intake, the shutter closes the bottom automatically.
1. Ensure that the appliance is switched off (display is dark). Turn the bean hop-
per counter-clockwise to the stop. The grind size graduation faces to the rear
of the appliance, now. Without violence, move the bean hopper upwards for
removing it from the grinder intake.
2. Empty the bean hopper. Thereafter, lock the bean hopper to the grinder intake
again, according to step 1 in reverse order, turning the grind size graduation to
the front side (see also: ‘Before First Use / Installing the Bean Hopper’).
3. Switch on the appliance and press the GRIND button repeatedly, if required, for
getting any residues of coffee beans out of the interior of the grinder.
4. Switch off the appliance and unplug. Leave the appliance cool down com-
pletely. Remove the bean hopper again.
5. Bean hopper and hopper lid may be washed in warm dishwater. Thereafter, rinse
and dry thoroughly. Leave the bean hopper and hopper lid dry naturally completely.
CAUTION – To avoid damage to the grinder: Do not poke with any hard
objects within the grinder intake. Do not pour or drip any liquids into the grinder.
Do not moisten the interior of the grinder. Bean hopper, hopper lid and the grin-
der burrs must be completely dry, when re-assembling the grinder.
