Consume textured milk, before the milk begins to separate. However, different brands
and types of milk and milk alternatives will texture differently. Additionally, the freshness
of the milk will have great influence. You may need to adjust the procedure accordingly.
WARNING – RISK OF BURNS! During operation and shortly thereafter, the hot
water / steam wand is very hot and hot steam, hot water and condensate could escape
from the hot water / steam wand. Do not hold your hands near the hot water / steam
wand tip. Ensure that the hot water / steam wand points to the drip tray, when not in use.
Young children must always be supervised, when they are near the espresso machine.
IMPORTANT:
The drip tray must be emptied in time, but at the latest when the red filling
level indicator is sticking out of the grill on the drip tray. Switch OFF the appliance (press
the POWER button), before emptying the drip tray.
Otherwise, due to the backflush of the
water system, hot water could escape.
Dip the tip of the hot water / steam wand at least 1 cm into the milk, before starting the
steam function. Otherwise, the milk could splash out of your vessel (e.g. the provided
milk jug).
Note:
For optimum milk texturing performance, it is crucial that the hole in the hot water
/ steam wand tip is clear. Even with a partially blocked hole the ability of the hot
water / steam wand to produce sufficient froth may be affected. Prior to texturing
milk, purge the hot water / steam wand via a steam burst. After texturing, always
wipe the hot water / steam wand to remove residues of milk, and then purge
again with steam.
Note:
Texturing milk is somewhat easier with the stainless steel tube of the hot water /
steam wand installed correctly (see: ‘Cleaning the Hot Water / Steam Wand’).
However, the stainless steel tube is not obligatory.
1. Ensure that the water tank is filled with a sufficient amount of water. The filling
level must lie between MIN (approx. 100 ml) and MAX (approx. 1.5 litres). If
required, empty the drip tray. Switch on the appliance and wait until the POWER
button is illuminated continuously.
2. Fill the milk jug with cold, fresh milk to below the spout position (approx. half full).
Note:
When using another vessel, ensure to fill it only half full too to prevent the milk from
overflowing.
