3. By the handle, turn the hot water / steam wand to the drip tray. Then press the
STEAM button to select the steam function. The STEAM button will flash. To
remove any condensed water from the system, turn the selection dial to the HOT
WATER / STEAM position until steam is produced. Then turn the selection dial
back to the vertical position.
4. By the handle, turn the hot water / steam wand to the front of the appliance and,
at an angle, insert the hot water / steam wand tip 1 – 2 cm below the surface of
the milk close to the wall of the milk jug.
WARNING: Do not take the hot water / steam wand out of the milk with the
steam function still operating. Otherwise, hot milk could splash and hot steam will
escape. Always turn the selection dial to the vertical position, before removing the
milk jug.
5. Press the STEAM button again to make the STEAM button flash. Turn the selec-
tion dial counter-clockwise to the HOT WATER / STEAM position to start steam
production. Keep the hot water / steam wand tip below the milk surface, until a
vortex is generated in the milk jug.
6. With the milk spinning around, carefully lower the milk jug to bring the steam tip
to the surface of the milk and start introducing air into the milk. You may have
to gently break the surface of the milk with the tip to get the milk spinning fast
enough.
7. Keep the tip at or slightly below the surface, continuing to maintain the vortex.
Texture the milk until sufficient volume is obtained.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that the milk will not run over the brim of the milk jug. The milk
is heated up via hot steam. Be aware that the vessel will get hot.
8. With the desired amount of froth produced, lift the milk jug to lower the tip some-
what deeper beneath the surface, but keep the vortex of milk spinning. Use the
steam to rise the milk temperature until the milk jug becomes too hot to touch.
9. Turn the selection dial back to the vertical position and wait some seconds to
allow pressure drop in the steam system. Then remove the milk jug carefully.
WARNING: The hot water / steam wand will be very hot after usage and
steam could still escape from the tip. Do not touch the hot water / steam wand with
your hands or delicate objects to avoid injuries and damage. Always ensure that the
steam wand cooled down before touching the steam wand tip with your hands.Imme-
diately wipe the hot water / steam wand with a clean, damp cloth, ensuring not to
touch the hot water / steam wand with your skin.
10. By the handle, move the hot water / steam wand to the drip tray. Then press the
STEAM button again to select the steam function. Turn the selection dial to the
