Why is my GE GFW148 making loud noises, vibrating, or shaking?

If your GE Washer is making loud or unusual noises, vibrating, or shaking, several factors could be responsible. The washer is designed to move slightly (about 1/4 inch), which is normal. Ensure all rubber leveling legs are firmly touching the floor by pushing and pulling on the back of the washer to check for levelness, adjusting the legs as needed. An unbalanced load can also cause these issues; pause the unit, redistribute the load, and run a rinse and spin cycle without any clothes to check the machine. A clogged pump filter might also be the cause, so refer to the Care and Cleaning section for cleaning instructions.
