Neverforce the latch handle,Forcingthe handle will damage the door lockmechanism.
Theovendoor must beclosedand all controls set correctfbtfor the cycle to work properly.
Wipe up heavy soil on the oven
bottom.
Before a Clean Cycle
Forthe first self-clean cycle, we recommend
venting your kitchen with an open window or
using a ventilation fan or hood.
Removethe shelves,any broiler pan, broiler
grid, allcookware and any aluminum foil
from the oven.
Theovert shelvescan be self-cleaned,but
they will darken, losetheir luster and become
hard to slide.
Donot usecommercial oven cleaners or oven
protectors in or near the self-cleaning oven.A
combination of any of these products plus
the high clean cycle temperatures may
damage the porcelain finish of the oven.
Soilon the front frame of the range and
outside the gasket on the door will need to
becleaned by hand.Cleanthese areas with
hotwater, soap-filled steel-wool pads or
cleanserssuch as Soft Scrub_ Rinsewell
with cleanwater and dry.
Do not clean the gasket. Thefiberglass
material of the oven door gasket cannot
withstand abrasion. It isessentialfor the
gasket to remain intact. If you notice it
becoming worn or frayed, replace it.
Wipe up any heavy spilloverson the oven
bottom.
Hake surethe oven light bulb cover is in place
and the oven light isoff.
CAUTION:The grates and drip
pans (if so equipped) should never be
cleaned in the self-cleaning oven.
Do nat use commercial oven cleaners or
oven protectors in or near the self-cleaning
oven. A combination of any of these products
plusthe high clean cycle temperatures may
damage the porcelain finish of the oven.
IMPORTANT:The health of some birdsis
extremelg sensitiveto the fumes given off
during the self-cleaning cgcle of any range.
Hove birdsto another well ventilated room.

How to Set the Oven for Cleaning (on
Followthe directions in the Beforea Clean
Cyclesection.
[] Latch the doo_
[] Turn the OVENTEMPknob to CLEAN.
TheCleon Timeis4 hours and 20 minutes. The
selfcleanlight will come on and stag on until
the selfcleoncycleis complete.
Theoven shuts off automaticollg when the
cleoncycleis complete.

[] After a clean cycle, turn the OVENTEMP
knobto OFFand slide the latch handle
to the left as far as it will go.
Tocancel self clean cycle, turn OVENTEMP
knobto off and slide latch to left as far as
it will go.Wait until selfclean light stops
blinking.Useoven as desired.
NOTE:Neverforce the latch. Ifthe oven is
too hot, you will not be able to slidethe latch.
Allow the oven to cool.

[] Touch the Self Clean pad.
[] Touch the + or- pads until the desired
CleanTime is displayed.
TheClean Timeisnormally 4 hours and 20
minutes. Youcan change theClean Timeto
any time between 3 and 5 hours, depending
on the amount of soilin your oven.
[] Touch the Start/On pad.
The self-cleancycle will automatically begin
after CLEAN isdisplayed and the time
countdown appears in the display.

While the oven isself-cleaning,you can touch
the Clock pad to display the time of day. To
return to the clean countdown, touch the
SelfClean pad.
Theoven shuts off automatically when the
clean cycle is complete, and 0:00 will flash
in the display.
[] Slidethe latch handle to the left as far
asit will go and open the doo_
NOTE:Neverforce the latch. Ifthe oven is
too hot, you will not be able to slidethe latch.
Allow the oven to cool.
