Careand cleaning of the range.
Besureelectricalpower is off and all surfacesare cool beforecleaning any part of the range.
If gour ronge is removed for cleaning, when the ronge is reploced. Foilure
servicing or onbl reason, be sure the to take this precaution could result in
anti-tip device is re-engaged properly tipping of the range and cause injury.
Oven Interior (non-selfcleonmodels)
With proper care,the porcelain enamelfinish
on the inside of the oven-top, bottom, sides,
back and inside of the door-will stag new-
lookingfor gears.
Letthe range cool before cleaning. We
recommend that you wear rubber gloves
when cleaning the range.
Soapand water will normallu do thejob.
Heavyspattering or spilloversmay require
cleaningwith a mild abrasive cleaner`
Soap-filledscouring pads may alsobe used.
Donot allow food spillswith o high
sugar or acid content (suchas milk,
tomatoes, sauerkraut, fruitjuices or
pie filling)to remain on the surface.Theymay
causeo dull spot even after cleaning.
Householdammonia may make the cleaning
job easier`Place 1/2 cup in a shallow glassor
pottery container in a coldoven overnight.
Theammonia fumes will help loosen the
burned-on greaseand food.
If necessary,you may use an oven cleaner`
Follow the package directions.
Donot spray oven cleaner on the electrical
controlsand switches becauseit could cause
o short circuitand resultin sparking or fire.
Donot allow o film from the cleaner to build
up on the temperature sensor-it could cause
the ovento heat improperly. (Thesensoris
locoted ot the top of the oven.)Carefullywipe
the sensorcleanafter each oven cleaning,
being careful not to move the sensoras o
change in itsposition couldaffect how the
oven bakes.
Donot spray any oven cleaneron the oven
door,handlesor any exterior surface of the
oven,cabinetsor pointed surfaces. The
cleanercon damage thesesurfaces.
Lift the door straight up and off the
hinges.
Thegasket is designed with a gap
at the bottom to allow for proper
air circulation.
Becausethe area inside thegasket is
cleaned during the self-clean cycle,
you do not need to clean this by
hand on stir-clean models.
Thearea outside the gasket and the
front frame can be cleaned with a
soap-filled steal-wool pad, hot water
and detergent. Rinsewell with a
vinegar and water solution.
Do not rub or clean the door
gasket-it has an extremely low
resistanceto abrasion.
Ifyou notice thegasket becoming
worn, frayed or damaged in any
way, or flit hasbecome displaced on
the door,you should haveit replaced.

Lift-Off Oven Door
Theoven door is removable for cleaning.
Donot lift the door by the handle.Make sure
the oveniscompletely cool.
Toremove the door, open it to the special
stop position.Graspfirmly on each side and
lift the door straight up and off the hinges.
Donot place hands between the hinge and
the ovendoor frame.
Toreplace the door, make sure the hinges
are in the special stop position.Position
the slots in the bottom of the door squarely
over the hinges and slowly lower it over
both hinges.
Tocleon the inside of the door:
Do not allow excesswater to run into any
holesor slots in the door`
Soap and water will normally do thejob.
Heavy spattering or spilloversmay require
cleaning with a mild abrasive cleaner`

be used.

openings,
Spillageof murinudes, fruitjuices, tomato
saucesand basting muterials containing
acids mug cause discoloration and should
be wiped up immediately. When surface is
cool, cleanand rinse.
Do not useoven cleaners,cleaning
powders or hursh abrasives on the
outside ofthe door`
