Not all instantaneous elements have to be blocked during the re-synchronization process. For example, the impedance ele-
ment maximum error is 8.86% at 60 Hz. With a typical margin of 15 percent, this is still well below impedance reach point.
Another example is Phase IOC; typically, these elements have very sufficient margin for the overload conditions and are set
high enough above these conditions. But voltage-based elements can be set quite close to the system nominal voltage or
operating voltage and can require attention.
