How to reduce static in my GE PFD87?
    • R
      rebecca89Sep 2, 2025
To reduce static in your GE dryer: * Use a fabric softener. Bounce® Fabric Conditioner Dryer Sheets have been approved for use in all GE Appliances dryers when used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. * Avoid overdrying by adjusting the setting to Less Dry or Damp. * Be aware that synthetics, permanent press, and blends can cause static; try using a fabric softener.

Why does my GE PFD87 display 00 in Time Remaining while running?
    • K
      Kelly JimenezAug 31, 2025
If your GE dryer is running but displays '00' in Time Remaining, this could be due to: * The Wrinkle Care option being chosen: During extended tumbling with this option, the time remaining is not displayed. This lasts approximately 60 minutes. * A full lint filter: Clean the lint filter, dry a load on an automatic cycle, and verify that the light turns off. * Improper or obstructed ducting: Check the Installation Instructions to ensure correct dryer venting. Ensure ducting is clean, free of kinks, and unobstructed. Also, check if the outside wall damper operates easily. Dry a load on an automatic cycle and verify that the light turns off.

Why are collars and waistbands still wet after using my GE PFD87 Dryer?
    • J
      jennifergarciaAug 30, 2025
If collars and waistbands are still wet at the end of a cycle in your GE dryer, it may be because the dryness monitor senses that the body of the clothes is dry. Choose QUICK DRY or TIMED DRY to dry damp collars and waistbands. In the future, when drying a load with collars and waistbands, choose More Dry.

      zjenningsAug 28, 2025
If your clothes are still damp after using the Dry setting on your GE dryer, it could be because: * The load consists of a mixture of heavy and light fabrics: When combining heavy and light fabrics in a load, choose More Dry. * The exhaust system is blocked: Inspect and clean the exhaust system.

How to prevent lint on clothes from my GE PFD87 Dryer?
    • J
      Jill PowellAug 25, 2025
To prevent lint on clothes when using your GE dryer, consider the following: * Lint filter is full: Clean the lint screen before each load. * Improper sorting: Sort lint producers (like chenille) separately from lint collectors (like corduroy). * Static electricity: Static can attract lint. See suggestions in this section under Static occurs. * Overloading: Separate large loads into smaller ones. * Paper, tissue, etc., left in pockets: Empty all pockets before laundering clothes.

What to do if my GE Dryer doesn't start?
    • L
      Luis BurnettAug 22, 2025
If your GE dryer isn't starting, here are a few things to check: * Control panel is “asleep”: Press the Power button to activate the control panel. * Dryer is unplugged: Ensure the dryer plug is completely pushed into the outlet. * Fuse is blown/circuit breaker is tripped: Check the building’s fuse/circuit breaker box and replace the fuse or reset the breaker. Note that some electric dryers use two fuses/breakers, so make sure both are operating. * Dryer was accidentally paused when starting Delay Dry: If the light on the Start/Pause pad is flashing, the dryer is paused. Press Start/Pause to restart the countdown.
