What to do if my GE PGB930 Ranges has excessive smoking during broiling?
    • R
      Robin BaileySep 2, 2025
If there's excessive smoking during broiling in your GE Ranges, the food may be too close to the burner element. Lower the rack position of the food.

What to do if my GE PGB930 Ranges burners do not light?
    • B
      Benjamin MaynardSep 14, 2025
If the burners on your GE Ranges aren't lighting, first ensure the range is fully plugged into a properly grounded electrical outlet. If you are using gas, check that the gas supply is connected and turned on. Also, check your home's fuse or circuit breaker. Make sure burner parts are replaced correctly. Check for clogged burner slots near the electrode, or the round lighter port on the oval burner, and clean them if necessary. If there is food residue on electrode, lightly polish flat tip of electrode with nail file or sandpaper until shiny.

    • O
      Olivia JonesSep 1, 2025
If you've experienced a power outage and the clock on your GE Ranges is flashing, reset the clock. If the oven was in use, you must reset it by pressing the Cancel/Off pad, setting the clock and resetting any cooking function.

Why does my GE Ranges have a strong “burning” or “oily” odor emitting from the vent?
    • A
      Aaron BuckleySep 17, 2025
A strong “burning” or “oily” odor from the vent is normal in a new GE Ranges oven and will disappear over time. To speed up the process, set a self-clean cycle for a minimum of 3 hours. See the Cleaning the Oven section. This is temporary.
  • B
    Brian WoodSep 15, 2025
Why is my GE PGB930 new oven doesn't cook like my old one?
    • R
      Robert HermanSep 16, 2025
Your new GE Ranges oven may cook differently because it has a different cooking system than your old oven. For the first few uses, carefully follow recipe times and temperatures, using rack positions recommended in the Cooking Guide. If you still think your new oven is too hot or too cold, you can adjust the temperature yourself to meet your specific cooking preference. See the Special Features section.
  • P
    Paula DavisSep 23, 2025
Why do my GE PGB930 surface burners light but bake and broil burners do not?
    • J
      jon61Sep 23, 2025
If the surface burners on your GE Ranges light, but the bake and broil burners do not, the gas to the oven burners may have been shut off. The oven gas shut-off is located on the gas regulator near the gas line attachment to your range. Locate it and flip the lever.

    Jeff CostaAug 28, 2025
What to do if my GE PGB930 Ranges oven will not self-clean?
    • C
      Charles MeyerAug 28, 2025
If your GE Ranges oven will not self-clean, it could be because the temperature is too high to start a self-clean operation. Allow the oven to cool down and then reset the controls. Also, make sure the oven controls are properly set.
  • D
    Darlene HillAug 27, 2025
Why is there excessive smoking during the clean cycle of my GE Ranges oven?
    • H
      Hailey SullivanAug 28, 2025
If you notice excessive smoking during the clean cycle of your GE Ranges oven, it's likely due to excessive soil or grease. To resolve this, press the Cancel/Off pad, open the windows to ventilate the room, and wait until the LOCKED light turns off. Then, wipe up the excess soil before resetting the clean cycle.

    Todd CooperAug 27, 2025
What to do if my GE PGB930 Ranges oven and/or display appears not to work?
    • M
      Misty SanchezAug 27, 2025
If your GE Ranges oven and/or display appear not to work, there are several things to check. First, verify that a fuse in your home hasn't blown or that a circuit breaker hasn't tripped; if so, replace the fuse or reset the breaker. Also, ensure that the oven controls are properly set. Check if the oven is accidentally in Sabbath Mode, and disable it if necessary. Finally, make sure the clock is turned on.
  • L
    Lisa BarberAug 26, 2025
What to do if my GE PGB930 oven door will not open or LOCKED light is on when I want to cook?
    • H
      Holly MartinezAug 27, 2025
If the oven door of your GE Ranges won't open and the LOCKED light is on, it's likely because the oven temperature hasn't cooled down enough. Press the Cancel/Off pad and allow the oven to cool below the locking temperature.
