In the following illustrations, the heat shield is out of
alignment due to an excessive fl at-bottom drop of
the cooktop. A large fl at blade screwdriver can be
inserted in the gap on the left-side of the tab.
The heat shield can be aligned with the tab by
pushing down on the screwdriver and raising the
heat shield even with the tab.

Inspect all tab-to-heat shield alignment areas.
Repeat this alignment procedure on all tabs, if
necessary.
It may be necessary to insert the screwdriver in the
right-side gap, push down on the screwdriver, and
raise the heat shield even with the tab.
