Why does my GE Water Filtration Systems water taste like chlorine?
    • A
      alejandro32Aug 3, 2025
If the water supply contains more than 2.0 ppm of chlorine, additional filtering of the water supply to the Reverse Osmosis is needed. Correct this condition before performing maintenance on the Reverse Osmosis system. Alternatively, the prefilter might no longer be reducing chlorine from the water supply, in which case you should replace the Reverse Osmosis membrane cartridge, prefilter, and postfilter.

What to do if GE PXRQ400T Water Filtration Systems is leaking from the faucet air gap hole?
    • S
      Steven GillespieAug 7, 2025
Inspect the drain side of the faucet air gap tubing for any restrictions or plugs and eliminate them. Ensure there are no dips, loops, or low spots in the drain line from the faucet air gap to the drain pipe. If a drain line adapter was used, regular inspection and cleaning are recommended.

What to do if my GE PXRQ400T Water Filtration Systems water has a strange taste or odor?
    • K
      Kristina AndersonAug 11, 2025
This is normal. If the taste or odor is due to low water usage, make sure the water supply inlet valve is fully open. If the prefilter and postfilter need to be changed, replace them. See the replacement section of the user manual for a full description.

    Curtis DavisAug 25, 2025
Why is my GE PXRQ400T making water slowly?
    • Y
      yshahAug 25, 2025
This is normal, the water flow rate will be lower than a regular faucet. If the water supply to the Reverse Osmosis system is not within specifications, increase water pressure or precondition the water as needed. If the prefilter cartridge is plugged with sediments, replace it. If the rate does not increase, replace the postfilter and Reverse Osmosis membrane cartridge. If the Reverse Osmosis membrane is plugged with sediments, replace the Reverse Osmosis membrane cartridge.

Why is the water from my GE Water Filtration Systems cloudy and has air bubbles?
    • D
      Dr. Dylan CampbellAug 28, 2025
This is due to air in the system after installation, and it will go away after the system runs for a while.
