8200 DSP Monitoring Systems
These new monitoring systems are designed for similar near-field monitoring
applications and acoustic spaces as described for our analog 8000 series products.
Genelec analog MDE™ bi-amp products offer a wide array of performance benefits
through unique technologies of their own, and are proven products in the real working
world of audio production.
The most critical listening conditions require the most advanced monitoring tools.
Many customers with digital audio production environments will be able to enjoy the
benefits of the new technologies in the 8200 series.
DSP/networked speaker systems are not a new concept. Such technology is in regular
use in commercial settings around the world, such as large sound reinforcement
venues. To bring this technology into a critical audio production environment requires
first and foremost a solid foundation to work from, and the 8000 series provides the
ideal platform.
The marriage of outstanding analog system performance with the newly developed
technologies of DSP, Genelec Loudspeaker Manager™ setup and installation
software and AutoCal™, automated filter calibration algorithm, allow those customers
who require further refinement in their sound reproduction to have the most advanced
tools at their disposal.
To bridge those customers still employing analog volume control, standard 7000 series
subwoofers may be used in conjunction with 8200 DSP bi-amp systems to provide the
highest level of performance available while transitioning to fully digital audio.

Genelec Loudspeaker Manager
Genelec Loudspeaker Manager™ software manages connectivity to all loudspeakers
on the network – up to 30 – from cabling and labeling to complete loudspeaker
definitions. Standard system configurations are provided as well as provision for
customized User Setups. All functions and settings are stored in these Setups or you
can store this data in each loudspeaker should you wish to disconnect the network
and operate without GLM™ to ensure security of your monitoring system.
