INSTALLA TION INSTRUCTION
A WARNING
MovingDoorcancauseseriousinjury or death.
• Wall control must bemounted in sightof
garagedoor,at least5feet abovefloor and
clearof moving parts.
• Keeppeopleclearof openingwhile door
is moving.
• Do Not allow children to playwith remoteor
dooropener.
If Safety Reversedoes not work properly:
• Close door, then disconnect opener using manual
release handle.
• Do Not useremoteor door opener.
• Referto Door andDoor OpenerOwner'sManualsbefore
attempting any repairs.
ElectricalShockcancauseseriousinjury ordeath.
• Powercord must be unpluggedbefore
attachingany wires.
• Be sure wire ends do not touch each other or
other terminals.
If you havequestionsor if you needa manual,

System (STB)SourceandSensordonothaveto bemountedongarage
doorframe.Theycanbeplacedanywherealonggaragedoorwallthatis
convenient for mounting,providedthelocatlonmeetsthe
followingrequirements:
1)Theymustbeplacedacrossthedooropening,
2)at properheight,
3)withaclearlineof sightbetweenthem.(Max.Rangeis30feet).
(Theymaybemountedonfloor,onlyasa lastresort,ifthereis
nootheroption.Notrecommended.)
1.Toeasemounting,sourceandsensorunitscanbedetached
fromthe bracketbypullingthemapart.Aftermountingbrackets,
slide units back onto brackets.

Bundleexcesswire andtapetotop of powerhead.
Reuseofexistingwiringiseasiestandrecommendedunlessit isbroken,
cut,frayedorthereisaproblem.Ifyoucanreuseexistingwiring—
SKIPFORWARDTOSTEP4. If newwiringmustbeinstalled,thepath
shown below is recommended.
Needto installnewwire?WireandWireClips(forfasteningthewireto
the rail)can be purchasedthrough CustomerServiceat 1-800-35-GENIE
oratalocalGenieProfessionalDealerusingthe•nformationattheendof
this instruction.The path shownbelow isrecommendedfor routing the
wire run.
1. Routetwo(2)lengthsof two(2)conductorwire(Seeabove)from
opener,alongtop ofrail.
Fasten wire to rail.
—Evenlyspacefastenersalongrail.
Fastento headerandwall(preferablywithinsulatedstaples).
Allow for some slack at the source and sensor units and cut off
anyexcesswire.

ACAUTION:
When using insulated staples,be aware that stapleswhich
aretoo tight can cut or pinch wires. Cut or pinched wires
can causethe Safe-T-Beam@Systemto stop working. When
using insulated staples,makesure you fasten them only as
tightly asneeded to hold the wire snugly.

At sourceandsensor,routewiresthroughbracketasshownand
attach wires at terminals. Either wire to either terminal
(non-polar).
NO POLARITY
EITHER WIRE TO EITHER TERMINAL IS OKAY
Safe-T-Beam@Systemmustbeinstalledandworkingproperlyinorderfor
dooropenerto function.
ACAUTION:
During testing of the Safe-T-Beam@System, be sure to
stay clear of the door and any moving parts. It is
preferrable to use a long-handled object to interrupt the
beam during tests.
1. Startdoormovinginclosedirection.
2. Passanobjectthroughthepathofthe Safe-T-BeamSSystemin
orderto interruptbeam.
Doorshouldstopandreversedirectionto fullyopenposition.
If doorwill not run in closeddirection,checkfor:
• Misalignmentof Safe-T-BeamDSystem
(RedLEDonsourceunitwillbeblinking).
• Obstructioninpathofbeam.
• Pinched or broken wire.
Loosewiring connection.

NOTE:If the situationdemandsthat the doorbe closed,this canbedone
bypressingandholdingthewallbuttonorwallconsolebuttonuntilthe
doorisfullyclosed.
AWARNING:
As the door is closing, constantly observe the door
opening to prevent anyone moving into the path of
the door.
If this happens, immediately release button.
