Do you have a question about the Genie SAFE-T-BEAM SYSTEM and is the answer not in the manual?
Moving doors can cause injury or death. Wall control must be visible and clear of moving parts.
If safety reverse fails, disconnect opener manually and consult owner's manuals before repairs.
Unplug power cord before wiring. Ensure wire ends do not touch each other or terminals.
Units must be placed across the door opening at proper height with a clear line of sight (max range 30 feet).
Source and sensor units detach from brackets for easier mounting, then slide back on.
Ensure an unobstructed path; mount sensor on the side receiving the least direct sunlight.
Measure bracket height, mark holes, and drill 1/8" pilot holes for mounting.
Reuse existing wiring if functional; otherwise, follow recommended path for new wiring.
Route two-conductor wire along the top of the rail, fastening evenly with slack at units.
Avoid overtightening insulated staples to prevent cutting or pinching wires.
Route wires through brackets at source/sensor and attach to terminals (non-polar).
Twist striped wires together, plain wires together, feed through tube, and connect to terminals #1 & #2.
Start door closing, interrupt beam with an object; door should stop and reverse.
Check for misalignment (blinking red LED), obstructions, pinched wires, or loose connections.
Press and hold wall button until door is fully closed if manual closing is required.
Constantly observe the door opening while closing to prevent entrapment; release button immediately.
