1.1 Important safety instructions
To ensure personal safety, it is important to follow these safety instructions.
These instructions must be kept.
à Only specialists authorised by GEZE are permitted to carry out installation, commissioning and maintenance
work.
à Unauthorised modications to the system release GEZE from liability for any resulting damages.
à GEZE makes no guarantee for combinations with third-party products. In addition, only original GEZE parts
may be used for repair and maintenance work.
à Connection to the mains voltage must be carried out by a qualied electrician. Perform the power connection
and equipment earth conductor test in accordance with VDE 0100 Part 610.
à The customer must install a circuit breaker as a mains separator, whose rated value is aligned to the type,
prole, method of installation and the ambient conditions of the local power supply line. However, the circuit
breaker must oer fuse protection of at least 4 A.
Swing door drive as locking device in accordance with DIN 18263-4
à In the event of a re alarm, fault or manual release, the locking of the swing door drive must be released, the
falling lock latch release (electric strike based on the working current principle) must be blocked and all signal
transmitters to open the door leaves must be disabled.
à The swing door drives may only be used on single-leaf and double-leaf doors if the door frame or, as the case
may be, the xed leaf of the double-leaf doors is equipped with an electric strike that unlocks the lock latch
and/or a safety catch with a spring-loaded latch.
à Permitted installation types:
à Transom installation opposite hinge side with link arm (1 leaf / 2 leaves)
à Transom installation hinge side with roller guide rail (1 leaf / 2 leaves)
1.2 Installation details
à The drive is only designed for use in dry rooms.
X
Only use the cables prescribed in the cable plan provided. Install shields in accordance with the wiring dia-
gram.
X
Always use insulated wire-end ferrules for wire cores.
X
Insulate the wires that are unused.
X
Secure loose, internal drive cables with cable ties.
X
Observe the maximum permitted overall current drain required to supply the periphery.
1.3 Safe operation
X
Secure the workplace against unauthorised entry.
X
Watch the swivelling range of long system parts.
X
Secure the cover/drive shrouding against falling.
X
Before working on the electrical system, disconnect the power supply (mains and battery) and check that no
voltage is present. Note that if an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is used, the system will still be supplied
with power despite the fact that the power supply is disconnected.
à Risk of injury by moving parts (drawing in of hair, clothing, ...) when a drive is opened.
à Risk of injury caused by unsecured crushing, impact, drawing-in or shearing spots.
à Risk of injury caused by sharp edges in the drive.
à Risk of injury due to glass breakage.
à For EMD-F and EMD Invers:
DANGER
Serious injuries due to link arm or lever arm snapping back!
X
Separate the motor from the control unit only when spring is relaxed.
X
Do not disconnect the motor.
X
Operate the drive only with a connected latching action switch.
1.4 Inspection of installed system
X
Check the measures for securing or preventing crushing, impact, shearing or pull-in spots.
X
Check the function of the presence sensors and movement detectors.
X
Check the protective earth connection to all metal parts that can be touched.
X
Check the correct rotary transducer setting (see chapter 20, “Motor”).
