3 Operation
3.1 Operation general
WARNING!
Danger of fatal injury in case of malfunctions during a re since the rescue routes can ll with smoke.
The system has to function free of faults.
X
Eliminate all the faults immediately.
X
If the yellow fault display of the RWA switch lights up, inform those responsible immediately.
Faults in the system have to be eliminated immediately.
X
Ensure that the operator of the system is instructed at least in the operating modes described below.
Manual triggering at alarm (EMERGENCY-OPEN)
X
Break the glass at the RWA switch and press the alarm switch.
Manual opening and closing of the ventilation
X
Press the OPEN or CLOSE switch at the vent switch or the ventilation control unit.
à Pressing the switch briey for approx. 1 second is sucient for latching (no continuous contact).
The process can be stopped by pressing the opposite switch.
à In the case of dead-man operation the ventilation only closes as long as the switch is pressed.
Automatic opening and closing (e.g. wind-rain control) takes priority over manual operation.
3.2 Ventilation mode
Opening and closing windows
The windows are divided into ventilator groups. The ventilator group has one or more vent switches with which
the windows of the ventilator group can be opened and closed together.
Opening width restriction
The service technician can specify a time-controlled opening width limitation of the windows for the ventilator
group. When the drives receive an Open signal via the vent switch, they stop after the specied opening time.
Further opening of the windows is not possible until the Close switch has been pressed.
The opening width limitation is only eective during ventilation operation, not during a re alarm.
Rain/wind control
If a rain/wind control is connected, all the windows are closed in the case of rain or strong wind. The vent
switches are then out of operation.
